French Limestone Supplies Back To Normal

It has been an” intriguing” two or three times to put it mildly. First of all, there was the tone- foisted madness of Brexit which brought query and annihilation to the force chains. On top of that, came the dislocation and tragedies of the Covid epidemic. And there is further.
Mercifully, the inflexibility of the epidemic appears to be on the wane but that seems nearly insignificant now compared to the horrendous events on the eastern edge of Europe. Our studies are with the people of Ukraine.

For us, the first two epidemic lockdown ages were spent in France. Our return ferry crossing wasre-arranged and also cancelled time and time again. We eventually managed to get back home to the UK in time for the obligatory counterblockade two weeks before Christmas but also family Xmases were cancelled anyway!

Towards the end of our stay as trip restrictions were lifted, we did get down to visit a couple of our regular chases and pick up some fresh samples. The Lavoux has been particularly popular and I have just had to order further samples.

We’re still passing some detainments with shipping because of the redundant customs administration but we’re managing and chancing ways around the problems. We’ve some really educated haulage agents to help us.
